In this list are architects who specialize in restaurants and have proven their credibility through experience, awards, and featured projects. 


Tricarico Architecture

Established in 1987, Tricarico Architecture offers services in retail design. Since then, it has worked with different clients on numerous successful projects over the years and helped the firm become a multidisciplinary architecture and design group with a diverse team. With a specialization in retail design, the firm’s project revolves around retail, restaurant, commercial, and automotive.

The firm is led by the president, Nicholas J. Tricarico, a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA). Tricarico is a graduate of Kent State University with a bachelor’s degree in architecture. He’s a licensed architect in all 50 states, as well as Puerto Rico. He has 35 years of industry experience and is a member of the New Jersey Society of Architects and the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC).

A known project by the firm is Kura Sushi located in Fort Lee. The interior features a strategic arrangement of tables and chairs in the middle of a conveyor belt that transports handmade sushi around the restaurant to customers. The ceiling features wooden cladding, which amplifies the interior design. 


Devino Architect & Associates

CRÈME Studio

The firm’s founder, Jun Aizaki, is a graduate of the architecture program at Brooklyn’s Pratt Institute. He previously worked at leading design firms in Brooklyn before opening his own firm in 2004. 

Because of the firm’s impressive work, it has received numerous awards throughout the years. The list includes the World Architecture Award for L’Amico NYC from Prix Versailles in 2016. CRÈME Studio was also included in several publications, such as Details & Design, Stellar Works, and The Architect’s Newspaper

LT Bar & Grill in Hackensack is a recognized project by CRÈME Studio. The project was a collaboration with renowned Michelin star chef Laurent Tourondel and was completed in 2020. It includes a 7,000-square-foot restaurant, 8,000-square-foot event space on the second floor, and a 1,300-square-foot outdoor dining space. The interior features an ultra-modern twist of a traditional steakhouse through meticulous woodworking, thoughtful details, and specific light fixtures, 


Beneli Group

The Beneli Group is a full-service commercial and residential architectural firm that started in 2016. Led by the firm’s principal, Adrian Lee, it specializes in planning, architecture, and interior design services. The firm provides remarkable design through collaboration with clients and advanced solutions. 

The 89 Main Street Restaurant in Fort Lee is a recognized project by Beneli Group. The one-story restaurant features a neoclassical theme with a decorative stucco and glass exterior. On the new terrace is an outdoor dining area with a landscaped walkway decorated with pilasters, light fixtures, and new cast iron railings. 


Richard Bloch Architect

A well-known international group of associated architects and interior designers, Richard Bloch Architect was established in 1986. The firm focuses on unique solutions for restaurant and hospitality projects. Richard Bloch Architect works closely with owners, chefs, and consultants to help bring their visions and dreams to life. 

The firm’s principal, Richard Bloch, AIA, received his bachelor’s degree in architecture from Pratt Institute in New York. Bloch is an established architect and interior designer in the restaurant industry with over three decades of experience. Because of his effective leadership, the firm’s projects have been featured in Insatiable Chic, Hospitality Design, and Eater. 

A project by the firm is the Tick Tock restaurant in Clifton which features a retro-themed diner. The exterior is lively especially at night through its neon lights that outline the structure and the bright signage on the roof. Outside the restaurant is a spacious parking lot for customers who want to dine in. 


GKA Architects

GKA Architects has offered unique and affordable architectural services since 2009. The firm specializes in new construction and renovation projects for industrial, commercial, residential, and municipal buildings. So far, GKA Architects has worked on over a hundred projects across the country. 

Greg Korn, the firm’s principal, was a graduate of Cornell University with a bachelor’s degree in architecture, as well as Washington University in St. Louis, where he earned a master’s degree in architecture. He is a licensed architect under the Arizona State Board of Technical Registration, California Architects Board, and the New York State Education Department.

A well-known project by GKA Architects is The Endzone, a local restaurant located in Jersey City. The project is focused on the renovation of the 2,000-square-foot restaurant and giving it a refreshing look while maximizing the limited space available. 


Gesture INK Architecture

Gesture INK Architecture is composed of an emerging wave of design professionals and was founded in 2012. It is composed of a team of illustrators, architects, animators, and programmers working together to help clients and the communities they live in. The firm maximizes technology by using modern design tools to efficiently collaborate with clients. 

The firm is headed by Mel Sarkor-Clinton and Milton Hernandez. Sarkor-Clinton is a licensed architect in New York and New Jersey with a bachelor’s degree in architecture from Pratt Institute. He has previously worked for other leading firms in New York where he gained most of his experience. Meanwhile, Hernandez also obtained his bachelor’s degree in architecture from Pratt Institute and participated in the Italy Study Abroad Program. He apprenticed at several architectural firms in New York City and has become well-versed in academic, residential, and community design. 

Chinah was a project by Gesture INK Architecture that features a functional space that highlights the elements of authentic home cooking. The interior has a minimalist theme with its clean white walls and wooden counter areas.
