In 2017, Curbed Washington DC reported that the U.S. Capital is in need housing units to keep up with the upward trend in the job market. Multifamily developers and business owners see this as an opportunity, especially since the city’s rental rates have risen 45% between 2005 and 2015. If that trend is any indication, the Capital’s multifamily industry has the potential for high returns on investment for stakeholders. Even with a possible recession on the horizon in 2020, experts are confident that the market will continue to do well due to D.C.’s historically recession-resistant marketplace.

To help you find the best contractor to build your rental property, we gathered fifteen of the best multifamily residential contractors in Washington, DC. These contractors have built some of the best properties in the city, ranging from boutique apartments to luxury condominium communities. These firms were evaluated based on their portfolios, their media presence, their awards, and their work history in the city.
