One of Zachry’s hospitality projects involved the Hilton Palacio del Rio located in downtown San Antonio. Completed in 1968 by the then H.B. Zachry Company, the company led the design-build approach on the renovation of the hotel from March 2011 to February 2012. Zachry updated every part of the 300,000 square-foot, 22-story hotel, giving it a modern style. The whole project cost around $25 million and has received a number of awards, including the Centro San Antonio’s Downtown’s BEST Award and the 25-Year Distinguished Building Award from the American Institute of Architects’ San Antonio Chapter.
