Yonkers, a well-known suburb of New York, is home to a major shopping district on Getty Square and recreational attractions such as the Tibbetts Brook Park and the Hudson River Museum.

If you own a commercial property in this area or are looking to bring your business to this bustling city, here is a list of the best commercial contractors in Yonkers who can help you with your building needs. These builders have decades of experience building for diverse markets across the state, from retail outlets to restaurants to large mixed-use projects.

Gold-framed accent lights illuminate the cozy neutral interior of the Empire Hotel Rooftop Bar. The firm built the 6,000-square-foot space to extend to a brighter covered deck area with views of New York City through glazed windows. Diners can choose from a variety of lounge areas in the indoor dining space, bigger functions can take advantage of the long couches out on the spacious terrace area. Leather stools also offer comfortable seats to enjoy a drink or two along the quartz-top bar.

PA Builders

Veggie burger joint Lekka Burger’s Lower Manhattan store sports a quirky boho look, with teal and orange accents accompanying the wooden tables and white brick walls. Long couch seats and intimate booths surround the bar seating area. A long table for bigger groups sits in front of a large mural picturing the signature burger right smack in the middle of nature. The bright colors continue in the walls and fixtures of the restroom.

The restaurant was built by Yonkers-based firm PA Builders, which has been serving New York since 2010. PA Builders’ team of in-house construction professionals has built strong relationships with its network of architects, engineers, and subcontractors, allowing it to create dynamic spaces for the commercial, retail, food service, and hospitality markets time and time again. Its roster of clients includes Reebok, Adidas, and Momofuku.

Aurora Contractors, Inc.

100 Raynor Avenue, Ronkonkoma, NY 11779

The 105,445-square-foot glass-paneled Neiman Marcus store at Roosevelt Field Mall in Garden City is the first and only Neiman Marcus store on Long Island. Aside from the luxury brand spaces, there’s also a cafe on the second floor that overlooks the hand-blown crystals on the curtain wall. It was also built to accommodate expansion into a three-story structure.

Neiman Marcus praised the professionalism and quality workmanship of Aurora Contractors, to whom it awarded the $32,000,000 contract for this construction project. The family-owned firm has brought the same work ethic to the other projects it has undertaken throughout the New York metropolitan area since it was founded by 40-year industry veteran Frank Vero, Sr. in 1986. CEO Frank Vero, Jr. joined the team as a carpenter in 1995 and rose through the ranks to become superintendent then project manager. He did all that while completing his Construction Management degree from the New York Institute of Technology, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude. He currently serves on the Building Board of Governors for the Associated General Contractors of New York State. Alongside him, President Anthony Vero has overseen the construction of over $600 million worth of the firm’s high-profile and complex projects for clients such as FedEx and Hilton.
